Wolseley Canada Environmental Policy

Wolseley Canada (including all its subsidiaries) is committed to protecting the environment through conservation, prevention, and sustainability efforts. As a concerned neighbor, Wolseley Canada will take every effort possible for the conservation of our planet. This commitment directly ties to corporate values and includes protecting the environment and investing in communities. Wolseley Canada is committed to managing its impact on society and the environment, while engaging multiple stakeholders on these issues, including governments, consumers, business partners, investment community, associates, civic organizations, local communities, and under-resourced populations. We will partner with our suppliers, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders in a collaborative effort to find sustainable solutions to business ventures and partnerships.

Wolseley Canada is committed to a reduction of our environmental footprint. The company will improve efficiency in the use of resources, including energy, water, packaging, and other raw materials, and will liaise with shareholders to ensure acceptable standards and effective supply chain management.

To help ensure Wolseley Canada is aligned with the needs of its shareholders, we will follow the Sustainability Program Standards set by Ferguson PLC, the parent company, reflected in the FEI Environment & Social Sustainability Policy.

Wolseley Canada will be committed to environmental protection on a local and a global scale. The company will comply with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations in all jurisdictions that it operates within.  As a company we will strive to go above and beyond legislation requirements for the conservation of our planet. The company will apply best identified environmental practices and standards applicable to the business as required. In the case of environmental release, Wolseley Canada will immediately perform remediation and conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence. Wolseley Canada will notify all local, provincial, and/or federal agencies as required.

Wolseley Canada will incorporate environmental considerations into all decision making and planning. Reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink shall be integrated into all relevant processes and activities. All associates will share responsibility for the environmental footprint that Wolseley Canada leaves. Associates are encouraged to be dedicated to environmental protection on and off the job. Education of associates on environmental concerns is critical to conversation efforts. Management at all levels will have responsibility for environmental protection as applicable to the operation of the business, and all its stakeholders involved. All Wolseley Canada Leadership shall allocate time necessary to maintain this level of commitment to environmental protection.

Wolseley Canada will set annual objectives and targets to bring about continual improvement of our environmental performance. These objectives and targets will be monitored and regularly reviewed as part of a continuous improvement effort.

Wolseley Canada Health and Safety Policy

Wolseley Canada (including all subsidiaries) is committed to providing a workplace that prioritizes the health and safety (including physical, psychological, and social well-being) of our associates, customers, contractors, and visitors. Through our commitment to continuously improve our Health and Safety Program, we strive towards creating an incident-free work environment.

Wolseley Canada is committed to hiring competent associates and providing the appropriate training and resources to allow the healthy and safe performance of work duties.  Associates will be made aware of all hazards they are working with and instructions on how to work safely with those identified hazards. Wolseley Canada will provide competent supervision to ensure healthy and safe conditions are maintained at all times.

Wolseley Canada will provide health and safety expertise to develop, maintain, and continuously evaluate our Health and Safety Program and systems to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation and identified best practice standards in all jurisdictions that within which it operates. Risks to associate health and safety will be assessed, and the most appropriate controls will be put in place. Wolseley Canada shall set annual health and safety objectives to improve the performance of the Health and Safety Program. As Wolseley Canada’s business needs change, the Health and Safety Program will be amended to meet the needs of the business and its associates, while prioritizing health and safety and maintaining compliance. The Health and Safety Program will uphold the highest regard for the wellbeing of Wolseley Canada associates, customers, contractors, and visitors.

Wolseley Canada’s Health and Safety Program encourages a system of internal responsibility. All associates have a role in creating and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. Associates are encouraged to communicate concerns, report all incidents, and participate in identifying health and safety hazards and solutions. All associates and contractors shall take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions. Co-operating fully with the Health and Safety Program ensures compliance and fulfilment of our obligation to ensure a healthy and safe workplace.

Wolseley Canada leadership shall allocate the time necessary to maintain this level of commitment to the health and safety of the business and our associates. Commitment to health and safety is integral to Wolseley Canada and is reflected at all levels within the organization.
